Your new role
- To start with you will be fully in office whilst you are learning. You will always need to be fully in office during their payroll days on Tuesday and Wednesday
- They run a fortnightly pay cycle, with 70 staff being run through this as well as 30 permanent members of staff.
- You must ensure the payroll complies with Australian legislation and follow their EBA
- You will be responsible for rostering, Work Cover claims and timesheet management also
- You will be assisting with getting rid of the current manual process and spearheading the implementation of ADP and more automated processes
- You will also have the chance to take on some accounting duties as you grow within the role, but your primary focus is to ensure smooth payroll processing.
- Experience as a stand-alone payroll professional
- Interpretation of Awards, EBAs, EAs must be up to date
- Work Cover and rostering with practical experience to back this up
- Must be happy working with manual systems
- Exposure to an ERP system such as MYOB would be beneficial
- Capability to "hit the ground running" and handle a complex payroll with payroll queries coming in also
- Hybrid working (3 days from office, 2 from home - subject to your initial training period)
- The ability to "own" the company payroll and work autonomously
- Career growth including implementation of ADP and being assigned accounting duties as you develop yourself in the role
