The Hedge Fund Services (HFS) business is a major business for Northern Trust, with Assets Under Administration of ~US$500b. HFS is recognized as a premier administrator in the industry, renowned for its innovation and expertise in handling complex assets and strategies.

With its leading-edge proprietary technology and a team of highly skilled professionals, HFS offers unparalleled flexibility and proficiency in servicing multi-product, multi-strategy funds globally. Hiring and retaining top talent is critical to maintaining our industry-leading position.

We are currently looking for an experienced leader in the hedge fund industry to help drive the growth of our business in the APAC region. This senior-level role will involve overseeing end-to-end delivery as part of the global HFS executive management team.

Role Summary:

The Head of Hedge Fund Servicing (HFS), Asia Pacific, responsible for leading the Hedge Fund Servicing business across Asia Pacific. Managing the operations, client service and product strategy and providing guidance to subordinate managers across multiple functions. You will represent the region at the executive level at certain Corporate and Asset Servicing forums, initiatives and projects, develop and achieve strategic business plans. You will also lead to foster a conducive environment for employee engagement and development.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Responsible for client delivery and satisfaction, product strategy and business performance of HFS, APAC. Oversee, plan, implement and communicate the overall strategy and the activities of the business.

Assume accountability for the performance and profitability of the area, including financial and staffing resources. This includes developing and managing capital and expense budgets and liaising cross-functions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

Collaborate with leaders and employees to foster a work environment that inspires employee engagement, open communications and proactive career development for all employees.

Maintain high level of governance and controls through proactive risk management and supporting compliance activities and programs

Drive continuous improvement of operations and administrations building a culture and operating model that delivers optimal productivity, efficiency and service levels.

Manage global partner relationships to drive client satisfaction, risk management, and profitability across all company products, services, and processes

Promote the bank and its products through speaking at industry and client conferences, public relations interviews, and participating in task forces.

Skills & Qualifications

Seasoned leader with 15+ years of experience and broad functional expertise in the hedge fund servicing industry, with focus on proactive strategic leadership

Multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical knowledge in the hedge fund servicing industry.

Leadership and organizational skills to direct the activities for multiple units, across different countries and cultures in Asia.

Proven ability to build relationship with key stakeholders and partners in other parts of the global corporation.

Skilled in developing business strategy, term planning and managing the profitability and performance of a major business segment.

In-depth knowledge of investment management theory, accounting and financial principles, and all associated investment strategies and instruments.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
