A foreign private bank is looking for a private banking supporting officer

Your new company

A Swiss-based private banking institution is known for its entrepreneurial approach and personalised wealth management services. It offers a wide range of investment, credit, and asset management solutions tailored to clients' needs. With a global presence across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Americas, and the Middle East, it is committed to sustainability and supports cultural initiatives like major arts and music events.

Your new role

  • Conduct and review name screenings for client onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate financial crime risks, including money laundering and terrorist financing.
  • Perform thorough name screening checks using internal and external databases to identify potential matches against watchlists, sanctions lists, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media.
  • Investigate and solving false positives by conducting additional research and analysis to verify customer identities and assess potential risk factors.
  • Review customer documentation, corroborative evidence, and KYC profiles to ensure all related parties are screened.
  • Collaborate with CRO/CSO to complete or discount name screening hits and guide them on proper escalation to compliance when necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of name screenings to facilitate new account openings, periodic reviews, and trigger event cases, including follow-ups with CRO/CSO for supplementary documentation when needed.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field;
  • Sound knowledge of AML / KYC risks with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferable in Private Banking;
  • Familiar with the HKMA requirements on AML and financial crime;
  • Demonstrated the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision, adapt and adjust to changing work priorities.
  • Fresh graduates welcome
