Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dynamic leader at Managing Director level to join the Fund Accounting Ireland management team and lead the ETF Fund Accounting teams.

Why this role is important to us?
Fund accounting is part of our Investment Services business and is a core service within the Global Delivery team, providing asset owners and managers access to our essential financial tools to deliver effective investment solutions. Our fund accounting team offers crucial operational service for our global clients.

The Fund Accounting Ireland - ETFs, MD, will have a reporting relationship to, and work closely with, the Head of Fund Accounting Ireland, to help set & deliver on the strategy for the Fund Accounting team. They will also work closely with the ETF Product team participating in the EMEA development of a world-class offering to support the end-to-end servicing needs of ETF product sponsors.

Job Description
Role specifics:

  • Ensure effective day to day BAU service delivery in Ireland Fund Accounting ETF teams and the timely escalation and remediation of issues as they arise.
  • Implement wherever possible consistent service delivery standards across Ireland Fund Accounting ETF clients aligned wherever possible with global model, fully implementing corporate technology to enhance client service effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and drive global operating model and business transformation initiatives as it relates to ETF teams.
  • Ensures that unique local operations/services operate in compliance with internal and external regulations and that escalation procedures are followed.
  • Report as required to corporate and regional governance committees with appropriate, timely and relevant information so that the Committee can discharge its responsibilities effectively.
  • Monitor budgets in line with corporate goals and direction from the GD Senior Management & Ireland Management Committee.
  • Strategic planning relative to ETF servicing expansion, identifying trends and driving continued innovation of ETF servicing capabilities.
  • In partnership with regional and global ETF product executives ensure operations are properly positioned to deliver upon its commitments to ensure high levels of client service.
  • Participate in business case reviews for investment consideration and, where approved, supporting analysis to ensure key deliverables and milestones are met.
  • Liaise across multiple business units to provide value-add resources needed to deliver a market leading product offering, including custody, fund services, securities lending, etc.
Managerial:
  • Ensure that your team has clear understanding of their reporting lines, authority levels, scope of responsibilities (including those delegated to them and those they delegate), objectives, training and competency.
  • Establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so that the business complies with internal policies and external regulations and can be managed effectively.
  • Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed and supported.
  • Establish and monitor an effective oversight framework to ensure that issues are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved. This includes: a) ensuring that appropriate management information is received, considered and challenged as appropriate at intervals proportionate to the risks; and b) that staff members have clear understanding of the escalation path/principles
  • Establish and nurture a culture of 'Risk Excellence' within the team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.
  • Establish and nurture a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability into staff members' behaviour in performing their roles.
  • Ensure that the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in your own and staff behaviour.
  • Ensure that you make reasonable decisions by exercising reasonable care when considering information available to you. This includes taking proactive action to ensure that the information you have is suitable and adequate.

Skills and experience:
  • Primary Degree or a Professional or Accounting qualification or equivalent preferred
  • Expert knowledge of securities industry (10+ years) investment strategies, market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Familiarity with all facets of the exchange traded product market space including, but not limited to: actively-managed, index-backed and with entities including authorized participants, market makers, exchanges and transfer agency and accounting / administration operations is optimal but expertise in other areas will be considered.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business administration and management principles and techniques. These include, but are not limited to, knowledge of strategic and operational planning, staff management, legal and regulatory laws, financial and cost analysis.
