The Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income conducts in-depth valuations of US and Global investment grade corporations. This role contributes to the implementation of portfolio strategy and structure for all mandates based on deep knowledge of portfolio holdings, a deep understanding of portfolio construction principles, and fixed income asset classes. Additionally, this role liaises with external third-party managers as required.

Depth & Scope:

  • Seasoned professional role requiring in-depth investment-grade fixed income expertise
  • Anticipates, identifies and interprets market opportunities and risks across fixed income asset classes, and applies learned knowledge to deliver investment excellence
  • Manages actively and passively managed investment-grade strategies which include mutual funds, institutional portfolios, SMAs, and UMAs
  • Effectively collaborates with members of the fixed income investments and trading teams as well as other internal partners at TD Asset Management, TD Epoch and TD Bank
  • Effectively collaborate with members of the credit research and active fixed income PM teams as well as other internal partners at TD Asset Management and TD Bank
  • Consistently delivers timely monthly and quarterly reporting to our business partners

Education & Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree and CFA, MBA desirable
  • 5+ years of fixed income portfolio or investment analysis experience with a financial services firm
  • A thorough understanding of fixed income instruments and financial markets, especially IG credit
  • Strong people skills, clear communication and presentation skills, team oriented, and the desire and ability to work with business partners across the organization
  • Strong analytical and technology skills along with the ability to learn new internal systems (advanced knowledge of Excel (VBA) and Bloomberg (API and BQL), and experience with BondEdge is a plus)
  • Strong critical thinking skills
