Major Duties :• For the Country GFS Operations unit work with the GFS leadership to support the implementation and communication of, clearly defined expectations, business targets and growth strategies in the location.
• Oversee the deployment of GFS vision, business strategy and organizational direction in relation to Fund Accounting, Transfer agency, Investment Operations activities.
• Oversee, plan and direct the activities of the Country GFS Operations unit towards achievement of the business objectives.
• Support the governance framework for Country GFS Operations unit with a view to ensuring effective governance and oversight including ensuring appropriate procedures exist and policies are adhered to
• Provide the leadership and relevant governing bodies as directed appropriate MI for the country GFS Operations unit and appropriate accountabilities
• Implement a framework with a view to enabling all direct and matrix reports to use resources effectively and, in conjunction with HR, that the performance management process is followed and training and development needs are identified and addressed
• Oversee the service delivery to Custody clients contracted to NT entities and serviced from the country.
• Abide by all regulatory requirements
• Ensure own compliance by acquiring, maintaining and applying to business practices knowledge of material corporate and local legislation and regulations relevant to own role and responsibilities
• Assumes responsibility for staffing resources within the Country GFS Operations unit, including managing capital and expense budgets, liaising cross-function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
• Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinking
• Guided by organization functional strategy, has broad impact on the functional, divisional or regional results.

Knowledge :• Knowledge of the C&IS and Country Operations as part of the overall Global Fund Services business offering.
• Knowledge of local laws that affect the banking/Branch industry is required to ensure office compliance.
• Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long-term support to the profitability/performance of a regional segment.
• Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals and resources needed and to assess and develop the skills of the staff. Applies broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness to drive financial performance
• Negotiates with senior leaders across the business

Experience :• Leads through subordinate managers; contributes to the development of functional/operational long-term strategy and develops annual business plans to ensure alignment.
• Appropriate educational background and professional qualifications
• Post qualification experience in increasingly senior roles
• Experience in major financial services business
• Effective communicator with the ability to articulate and develop an argument in an environment of assertive executive directors
• Well-developed management and leadership skills
• Coaching and counselling skills
