This role directly reports to the Finance Director (Rest of Asia), with dotted line reporting to the General Manager (Tokyo) and General Manager (Osaka).
As the top finance leader in Japan, this role is responsible for all finance matters in Japan including financial and management reporting, FP&A, business partnering, stakeholder management, consolidation, process implementation and improvements, and ensuring compliance.

As the top finance leader in Japan, this role is responsible for all finance matters in Japan including financial and management reporting, FP&A, business partnering, stakeholder management, consolidation, process implementation and improvements, and ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Handle month-end reporting, FP&A (budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis), and taxation.
- Ensure financial reporting is done timely and accurately.
- Management reporting on financial standing and metrics on a regular basis.
- Develop financial models for strategy planning and to drive decision-making for the company.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and forecasting.
- Drive process improvements to improve efficiency of the finance team.
- Drive active participation in business decision-making.
- Implement internal controls.
- Liase with both internal & external auditors, and ensure compliance in audits.
- Liase with external tax agents on any local tax matters.
- Manage and train finance staff, providing a conducive and positive environment for growth.
- Manage treasury and fixed assets.
Experience:
- Ability to work independently with a positive hands-on attitude.
- Strong knowledge in financial accounting and reporting.
- Possess good knowledge of IFRS.
- Strong understanding of Federal and state/regional fiscal procedures and regulations.
- Professional certifications (CPA, CA) are good to have.
- Experience with Navision and Rakuraku Seisan would be advantageous.
