The Senior Payroll & Benefits Officer is positioned in the Human Resources department and has a reporting line to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
The mission of HR UK is to provide a responsive, business aligned HR service to ABN AMRO employees and businesses.

Your job
The Senior Payroll and Benefits Officer has the following responsibilities:
• Processing payroll data for the four ABN AMRO entities ensuring it is accurate and delivered in line with agreed timelines
• Liaising with the external Payroll service provider
• Administering all employee benefit programmes
• To support the Payroll and Benefits Manager with specific projects as required.
Payroll
• Process the monthly payroll data and deliver to the external payroll provider on a timely basis in line with agreed timelines.
• Ensure all joiners, changes and leavers are entered accurately and in a timely basis on the payroll middleware
• Liaise with the Payroll Service provider to resolve queries regarding the data processed
• Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with the monthly Payrun checking
• Ensure all Expat payroll processes are completed in a timely manner and payments made in line with deadlines
• Work with the Payroll and Benefits Manager to administer the shadow payroll for relevant employees
• Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with the administration relating to short term business visitors
• Work collaboratively with the HR team to ensure a seamless and positive HR/payroll experience is received by the end user
• Responsible for monitoring the Reward mailbox and responding to all employee Payroll queries within agreed timelines/timely manner
• Engage in continuous learning keeping up-to-date with all statutory and legislative changes affecting payroll plus looking to use knowledge gained to improve the overall Payroll service
Benefits & Pension
• Respond to queries from employees regarding the Bank's benefits
• Ensure changes to benefits are correctly applied on payroll
• Assist the Payroll Manager with the reconciliation of benefit submissions against payroll each month
• Administration of the Flex Benefits portal including onboarding new joiners, updating contractual information and the monthly benefit window process
• Provide Benefits information to employees as part of the New Joiners Induction
Reporting
• Responsible for producing and reconciling the monthly Pension report for submission to the relevant external stakeholder
• Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with ensuring that Reward related content is up to date and accurate on the HR Intranet page
• Responsible for the processing of HR related invoices
• Produce ad-hoc reports from the Payroll software as required

Your profile
• UK based with UK payroll experience
• Strong background working within payroll with excellent technical skills including the ability to undertake manual payroll calculations
• Excellent knowledge of payroll systems (ADP experience desirable)
• Experience of processing Expats, Inpats and Cross Border workers including operating a Shadow Payroll plus knowledge of the relevant tax treatment
• Strong Pensions knowledge and experience
• Experience of benefit administration including payrolling benefits plus strong knowledge of the tax treatment of benefits in kind
• Experience of Statutory Reporting
• Working knowledge of HR systems and benefits portals (Success Factors and Darwin experience desirable)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong experience of Payroll Reconciliations
• Experience reviewing payroll processes and writing Standard Operating Procedure documents
• Strong communicator. Organisational and time management skills are essential
• Thorough and up-to-date understanding of HMRC rules
• CIPP Qualification Desirable
• Excellent attention to detail
• Customer minded and excellent service orientation
• Excellent team player with a strong focus on collaboration
