Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the SPG Special Projects team at HUB International. This position will report directly to the Finance Senior Manager, SPG Special Projects, and will be responsible for driving financial analysis, supporting process improvements, and contributing to strategic initiatives across SPG's accounting and finance departments. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct detailed financial analyses to support decision-making for various SPG initiatives. Develop, maintain, and improve financial models and dashboards that track performance against key metrics.
  • Project Support: Assist in the development and execution of project plans, timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of process improvements, system upgrades, and policy alignments.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and analyze existing processes, recommending improvements to streamline operations, enhance accuracy, and increase efficiency within the finance and accounting departments.
  • Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by conducting thorough reviews and reconciliations. Assist in the development and implementation of data management best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project sponsors, SPG leadership, and other stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis. Prepare and present financial reports and findings to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project completion and escalate issues as necessary. Work proactively to mitigate risks and ensure that projects stay on track.
  • Support System Implementations: Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new systems and system enhancements. Ensure that financial systems are effectively integrated and support the overall goals of SPG.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong relationships with finance, accounting, operations, technology, and other departments to support SPG's strategic objectives.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support for special projects as requested by the SPG Accounting and Finance leadership team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly related to financial operations and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Experience with financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is an asset.
