The Global Government & Public Affairs team of Deutsche Bank which is located in Frankfurt, Berlin, Brussels, London, Washington D.C. and New York. The team is responsible for the early identification and creation of awareness of political agendas and regulatory developments with an impact on Deutsche Bank's business strategy. Government & Public Affairs coordinates the development and delivery of bank-wide advocacy positions as the basis for the bank's adequate representation in legislative processes.

As a Policy Expert Capital Markets & UK you will be based on London report into the Head of Capital Markets Policy & UK and work in close cooperation with the wider Government & Public Affairs team and relevant areas across the bank.

Your key responsibilities
  • Leading advocacy on regulatory developments relevant for the Bank's business model across the entire value chain of the Bank's primary and secondary market activities globally
  • Working with the Head of Capital Markets & UK policy on establishing Deutsche Bank within the UK as trusted partner for strategic insights and provide a voice for the financial services sector across a number of different stakeholders and industry groups
  • Providing regular and ad-hoc briefings for Deutsche Bank's senior management on strategically important policy topics to ensure awareness and focused engagement with external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with internal experts to develop consultation responses, policy papers and presentations for internal and external use related to policy initiatives
  • Conducting effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders; prepare and follow-up to relevant meetings and participate in industry events, conferences and hearings.
  • Building and maintaining a strong internal and external network with topic experts, industry associations and policy makers
Your skills and experience
  • College or university degree in financial services, politics or law
  • Solid experience in the financial sector or in public affairs
  • Strong interest in global financial services and innovation, combined with an affinity for regulation, policy and advocacy
  • Ability to work and deliver under time pressure, ambition to deliver high quality, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional language skills considered an asset
