We are seeking a Regional Vice President (Wholesaler), based in Edmonton, who will work with our Retail Sales team to grow our business.  The successful candidate will be responsible for generating sales and developing new business along with servicing and managing existing clients. Effective territory management and planning will be key to achieve sales, product diversity and budget targets.  This opportunity will be ideal for someone with a passion for the financial services industry and desire to align with a high performing brand.


Responsibilities include:

  • Expand and maintain high quality business relationships with Investment Advisors by ensuring on-going product and sales support to existing clients.
  • Identify and pursue new relationships and opportunities with prospective clients within the territory to drive sales.
  • Arranges one-on-one, group and/or branch meetings with financial advisors to promote new and existing company products.
  • Service and educate advisors through presentations, branch meetings and road shows. Assist advisors with business building strategies.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed activity targets and sales goals.
  • Maintain detailed notes within CRM of meetings, conversations, and all types of interactions with clients and prospects.
  • Works extensively and within a team environment to meet and/or exceed company sales objectives.
  • Contribute to the overall PenderFund team by participating in initiatives, developing and sharing information on best practices and sales strategies.
     

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a sales role in the asset management/investment industry.
  • University degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of or working towards an advanced certification preferred, CFA, MBA, CFP or CIM.
  • Strong interest and knowledge in capital markets, particularly of the stock and bond markets and how they relate to mutual funds and alternative investment products.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date on past, current and future trends in the financial services industry.
  • A willingness to pursue new and creative ideas, the motivation to achieve results, dedicated and energetic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal & written.
  • Individual contributor who excels in a team environment.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to use their initiative in maximizing sales.
  • Proficient with Salesforce and Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Ability to travel extensively.
