Team Introduction: The investment finance team in Bytedance primarily executes deal-side related finance work. The team acts as an in-house finance expert and assist in various equity and asset transactions to solve accounting and finance related technical issues, and work closely with other in-house investment, tax and legal experts. Transactions they execute include private equity investment, merger and acquisition, fund investment, equity divest, spin-off and restructuring. Major responsibilities of the team are divided into deal execution and post-deal management. For deal execution, their work covers buy/sell-side financial due diligence, designing deal structure together with tax and legal teams, transaction legal documents review, major finance terms negotiation. For post-deal management, their work covers finance/business integration, post-deal follow-ups, and post-investment management. Team members are accounting and finance experts with years of experience in private equity transaction related fields from accounting and finance professional background. This role is an independent contributor role and will be based in our Hong Kong office.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for finance related work in the overall process of equity/asset trading (eg. private equity investment, fund investment, merger and acquisition, equity divesting, spin-off and restructuring), including financial due diligence, financial risk analysis, financial model analysis, as well as assisting in the overall transaction execution including design of transaction structure and plans, review of transaction documents, negotiation of key finance terms.

2. Responsible for post-transaction related finance work including post-investment management, post-merger integrations and follow-ups, and post-transaction price-adjustment work.

3. Other investment finance work assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree with a major in finance/accounting or in a similar field

- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar role i.e. in equity trading or other related fields, with the ability to execute financial due diligence work independently

- Familiar with Mainland China, Hong Kong, and overseas accounting principles, as well as basic knowledge of tax and legal rules for various equity transactions

- Excellent communication skills with cross-functional and international teams to work closely with tax and legal experts to discuss cross functional issues as well as to communicate strategically in complex situations or through deal negotiations

- Experience from Big 4 accounting transactions advisory department or other equivalent experience (i.e. experience in private equity financial due diligence)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Highly proficient in using office software such as Excel and PPT to execute data analysis. Candidates with other professional data analysis tool skills are highly preferred.

- CPA / CFA qualified.

- Experience in the middle-office/risk control team of private equity funds or corporate strategic investment department is highly preferred.

- Capable of identifying issues and risks as well as providing practical solutions and suggestions.
