About us
About you
The role
What we offer
- We're a recently founded investment partnership, based in London, with a concentrated portfolio of mid-sized public equities across Europe.
- We have a collaborative and collegiate working environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term thinking.
- We're hiring a Financial Analyst to work alongside our Portfolio Manager and our Business Analyst in a three-person investment team.
- Our process aims to use a private equity approach to investing in public markets (8-12 positions; supportive relationships with management; 3-7 year holding periods; and deep, fundamental research on our companies).
- Our team structure is designed to mirror the way a private equity firm would diligence an investment, such that the Financial Analyst (this role) is focused on FDD, and the Business Analyst (a separate role) is focused on CDD.
About you
- Qualified Accountant with experience in transaction services / FDD, corporate finance, or equity research.
- Highly quantitative and strong in financial modelling in Excel.
- Growth mindset and a passion for self-development.
- Humble, kind-natured, and open-minded.
The role
- Build and maintain three-statement financial models for our portfolio companies and prospective investments, with detailed 5-year forecasts.
- Quarterly calls or meetings with management teams (CEO/CFO/Head of Investor Relations).
- Analyse a company's reported financials, pulling out trends in revenue growth and margins to assess whether the key fundamentals are improving over time.
- Analyse a company's unit economics, sources/uses of free cash flow, and track record of capital allocation.
- Assess earnings quality, accounting policies, and internal controls, as well as working capital, leverage, and liquidity.
What we offer
- Autonomy: You are being hired for your expertise in financial analysis, and so you will be expected to drive your work without being micromanaged.
- Development: We aim to create an environment where you can reach your full potential. Apart from on the job training, a structured development plan, and regular feedback, you'll also be supported in taking courses or exams that you believe would add to your skillset.
- To be part of a growing firm with outsized ambitions: The team size will likely be no more than 6-9 people, and so everyone will make a significant contribution to our mission.
- Competitive compensation: In the near-term, you will receive a salary and performance-based bonus that we expect to be at the top-end of the range of what you could earn elsewhere. There will also be a path to becoming a partner in the business, whereby you would be allocated a %-share of any profits.
