Job Summary :
The Assistant Finance Manager ensures finance reporting is in compliance with Singapore/Labuan regulations, Group reporting requirements, local Singapore/Labuan and IFRS GAAP, whilst also assisting in the implementation of impending regulatory requirements and integration-related projects within the region.
Job Duties:
• Prepare/review of month-end closing activities in relation to Group and regulatory reporting.
• Prepare/review reporting packs in relation to MAS/LFSA regulatory returns, annual financial statements and taxation related matters.
• Handle queries or requirements from auditors, MAS, LFSA and IRAS.
• Provide strong support to AVP Finance / Finance Manager and other business functions by providing finance related input to help with decision making, including internal/external audits and the preparation and review of all reporting requirements.
• Work with AVP Finance / Finance Manager closely in driving forward enhancements and process improvements to ensure the effective and efficient control of local regulatory reporting and to provide inputs for continuous improvement, also look for opportunities to streamline and enhance the same processes by way of possible automation.
• Perform/review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues.
• Support projects on an ad-hoc basis to ensure necessary finance related requirements are met.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
• Degree in Accountancy or Finance
• 3-5 years in financial reporting role, with previous working experience in Insurance Industry and familiarity in MAS returns.
• Substantial experience in the Insurance industry, preferable non-life insurance
• Excellent knowledge of accounting rules and regulatory requirements (MAS, LFSA and IRAS)
• Ability to be hands-on, to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Excel
• Good communication/interpersonal skills and detail orientated
• Keen awareness of latest financial accounting environment and insurance regulations and able to analyze the impact of these changes to the organization
• Passionate to work in a fast-moving environment
• A good team player
