Role Description:

LSEG Technology brings together our product development, operations, digital and business technology, cyber security, architecture, and technology program management groups.

The Technology Finance Decision Support Team is accountable for delivering service excellence across all Technology functions with ongoing management of the business relationship across both senior Finance & Technology partners. Responsibility extends to business collaboration with the Leadership team and providing all financial information to support the team in meeting its objectives and drive informed business decision-making.

This is a Manager role, working directly with the Director of Technology and Finance and the broader teams to ensure finance strategy is delivered. The role focuses on Technology programs, including M&A and transformational strategy. The role would be expected to own relationships end-to-end and act independently as the strategic owner of the programs collaborating with partners throughout.

The successful candidate should have shown ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Key responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:
  • Technology M&A Support LSEG Technology on all acquisition and divestment activities, including due diligence through to integration or separation. Responsible for the financial analysis process on mergers or acquisitions, including:
    • Support financial modelling of Technology cost into Group Corporate Strategy activities, leading the Technology financials for M&A.
    • Co-ordinate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to deliver Technology inputs to M&A on a timely basis.
    • Developing and implementing processes to ensure Technology Leadership remain informed of the budgetary impact of M&A activity.
  • Technology Strategic Transformation Manage or support major transformation programs to ensure adequate modelling, strategy development and appropriate functional ownership of the initiatives. Lead process enhancement and improvement activity.
  • Financial Partner Understand business drivers to ensure effective collaboration with business management.
    • Providing business finance support and drive strong relationships across the business including Central Finance, Controllers, Finance and Operations
    • Provide commercial insight, analysis, and decision support to senior management
    • Lead / Support for financial analysis, modelling, validating and tracking outcomes
    • Where required, consolidating, analysing and providing information to management through monthly global / regional reporting packs and ad-hoc reporting decks
    • Supporting with Business Case activity and financial modelling for initiatives
    • Support end to end monthly business reviews (MBRs) and budgeting process covering P&L, working with senior management
Key skills required to be successful in the role:

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, ability to establish links with key partners both internally and externally
  • Analytical experience, with the skills for problem solving and decision making
  • Highly numerate with advanced excel / financial modelling and excellent analytical skills
Experience required:
  • Qualified chartered accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 7 to 10 years post qualified experience, which includes M&A, accounting and business partner activities (budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, strategy evaluation, analysis and insight)
  • Track record of effective communication and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Non-finance stakeholder exposure / experience will be beneficial
  • Experience in a project centric finance role and with meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERPs and other financial systems
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent use of Microsoft office packages, PowerPoint, Excel/ Power BI/Query, Word and other BI tools
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues globally
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects with competing demands
  • Time-zone overlap with global stakeholders and counterparts, as warranted
