The Role:
An opportunity has arisen to join M&G's market-leading long income team with a portfolio of c. £6.5 billion AUM across traditional and alternative real estate sectors. The team manages three pooled external funds (SPIF, SLIF and ESPIF), an insurance mandate and an internal annuity book. We are looking for a Surveyor to operate at the heart of the UK fund management team.
Working closely with experienced professionals across the business, you will apply your skills to all aspects of the management of M&G's substantial long income portfolio. The portfolio has external property managers but there is a need for a RICS qualified surveyor to work across different elements of the Funds activities, including a significant element of asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing the ESG strategy across the portfolio, including data collection, tenant engagement and asset management initiatives.
- Assist in day to day management of the portfolio, including business plans and rent reviews (typically RPI or CPI linked) - strong attention to detail, ability to read leases, carry out calculations, track and progress these from start to finish.
- Work with colleagues to progress tenant applications, licences and neighbourly matters, as well as work to resolve health and safety and fire safety issues.
- Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including: tenants, valuers, consultants and property managers.
- Support the team on asset management opportunities such as redevelopments or lease regears.
- Assist in managing portfolio data and updating key management tools on a periodic basis.
- Assist in the provision of internal and external reporting.
- Assist in the annual review process of the Funds (i.e. updating the analysis of tenants and properties to enable the Fund Managers to make sell/hold recommendations).
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a real estate firm in a relevant role
- Likely RICS qualified, with the ability to read and interpret leases
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
- High level of proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to manage, track and implement multiple projects
- Team oriented person
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and negotiate with third parties
- Strong interest in forging a career in the UK real estate market
- Desirable: interest in/knowledge of wider financial markets, basic financial modelling ability and strong commercial acumen.
