We are seeking an Equity Analyst in Vancouver to support coverage of small cap North American public companies (majorly Canadian companies). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in the small cap universe, philosophically aligned with Pender’s fundamental approach and have a passion for business analysis.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform all aspects of the fundamental research process of businesses we own or are evaluating for potential investment. Prepare and maintain fundamental company research reports and investment models. Identify and maintain a shortlist of compelling, high conviction investment ideas. Participate in team meetings where investment ideas, insights and topics are discussed. Participate in research meetings involving interviews with company management teams. Preparation of marketing materials for salesforce and client update.

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • A passion and preoccupation with business analysis and fundamental investing. Strong analytical background as demonstrated through academics and work experience Undergraduate degree or higher. Minimum of two years working experience. Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work within time constraints. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also being a team player. Expert level familiarity with Microsoft Excel. Completion of the CFA program is an asset.

We are sharing that the estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 per year. In determining final salary, Pender considers many factors including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, job responsibilities, market conditions, position location and internal equity. Our aim is to ensure fair compensation practices that align with industry standards while acknowledging the unique value and expertise each individual brings to the role. The final base salary for the offer will be presented as part of a competitive compensation package.
