We are looking for a Research Associate Analyst to join our Financial Markets Equity Research Team in the Oil and Gas sector. This role will report directly to the Oil & Gas and Oilfield Services Research Analyst in our Calgary office. This position requires an ambitious and self-motivated individual who is comfortable in ambiguous, demanding and fast-paced environment.
Your role
- Analysis of financial statements and the valuation of domestic and foreign companies Development and maintenance of financial models Industry & market research and collection and maintenance of industry and company data Evaluation of additional information from the financial press, corporate, industry and alternative sources Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and analyst presentations Communication with institutional clients, management of companies under coverage and equity sales staff
Your Team
National Bank Financial is a leading Canadian Financial Services company. A wholly owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada, it is an established investment dealer that provides research, sales, trading and investment banking services to institutional and retail investors. The firm is seeking an Associate Analyst who will work directly with the firm's Research Analyst in the Oil & Gas sector.
Basic Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, finance, accounting, economics, business or related disciplines with an outstanding academic achievement Related industry experience and a CA, CPA, CFA, P.Eng or P.Geo professional designation (completed or near completion) will be a strong asset Experience with financial modeling and analysis Knowledge of Bloomberg and geoSCOUT applications Willingness to work long hours in an unpredictable setting Strong writing and communication skills in English Preference will be given to candidates with previous analytical experience in equity research and or oil & gas
