Position
Assistant Manager, Compliance (Surplus Lines)
Responsibilities
- Train, develop and coach new and existing Surplus Line Tax Coordinators ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and expertise to effectively perform assigned job duties.
- Provide daily direction and oversight to Surplus lines Tax Coordinators ensuring productivity and quality goals are consistently achieved.
- Researching, monitoring, and implementing any changes required to ensure compliance with each state's surplus lines requirements
- Keeping surplus lines teams and third-party vendor apprised of any state updates and/or internal procedural changes.
- Manage weekly data import process to ensure weekly tasks are created and assigned to staff.
- Manage pending tax payment tasks and other internal reports to ensure timeliness in payment and reporting of all taxes
- Provide support for surplus lines state audits or inquiries with direction from Compliance Manager.
- Support completing and filing tax reports on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis making sure to meet all filing deadlines.
- Work with Compliance Manager to optimize process and develop best practices to support efficient processes.
- Provide support for local facility performing liaison activities with building management company
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years' experience managing processing teams
- 3-5 years' experience in an E&S/Surplus lines filing role
- Knowledge of insurance industry, admitted vs. non-admitted markets
- Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Gather and interpret moderately complex data
- Must have exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team
