Your new role
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with the team to process the fortnightly payroll.
- Manage staff movements, including onboarding new employees, processing departures, and implementing other payroll changes.
- Administer bonuses and salary sacrifice requests, ensuring compliance with ATO calculation methods for payments and deductions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in termination calculations.
- Understand and manage leave accruals.
- Apply knowledge of Long Service Leave regulations, considering the specific rules for each State and Territory.
- Ensure that payroll processes and procedures are thoroughly documented and regularly reviewed for accuracy and relevance.
- Prepare manual payments as needed.
- Address payroll enquiries from employees, providing assistance through face-to-face interactions, telephone, or email.
- Previous experience in a similar payroll role within a medium to large organisation.
- Proficient in payroll software, previous experience with major ERP software.
- Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines consistently.
- Excellent time management capabilities.
- Effective team player with a collaborative approach and a readiness to share knowledge to achieve collective goals.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to taking on various tasks.
- Positive attitude, demonstrating flexibility and resilience to align with business objectives.
