Accounts Assistant needed with Legal Background Your new companyOur client is based centrally on the Gold Coast and is rapidly growing within the market, proving their reputation in the industry. Our client requires an experienced and driven Accounts Assistant for a full-time role to join their team and facilitate the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This position has varied responsibilities across accounts and administration and will require a determined individual with the ability to work in a collaborative environment to support management.
Your new roleReporting to the Financial Controller, you will be an integral member of a small but highly effective finance team. You will be a self-starter, manage and process accounts payable and provide key support to the overall Finance Division.
Your day will include, but not limited to:
  • Accounts payable, daily office and trust receipting
  • Bank reconciliations, EFTs, and banking
  • Assisting with EOM and EOFY
  • Assisting with debtor control and risk management
  • Provide support to the finance manager and general manager
  • Preparing agenda's and minutes for weekly meetings
  • Record management, EMR, preparing various reports
  • Updating firm policies and procedures
  • General administrative duties
  • Other administrative tasks as directed
  • What you'll need to succeedTo be effective in this role you will need demonstrated experience in a similar role and an Accounting degree would be highly regarded. You will enjoy working with numbers, have a keen eye for detail, work well within a team environment and have strong communication skills, written and verbal. You will be motivated and willing to get involved in all parts of the finance process.
    You will also have the following attributes and knowledge:
    • 3+ years accounts and admin experience in a law firm (essential)
    • Typing speed of 70+ wpm with 98 percent accuracy
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Takes initiative and excels under pressure
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Advanced Word and Excel skills
    • High level attention to detail
    • LEAP (highly regarded)
    • MYOB (highly regarded)
