Job Purpose
Financial derivatives role within ICE Futures Europe (IFEU) responsible for surveillance operations and investigations across multiple asset classes including oil, natural gas, environmental, soft commodity, fixed income and equities markets. In this role, the Senior Market Surveillance Analyst will demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills, which combined with the ability to recognise trading patterns and identify potentially manipulative or illegitimate activity, will enable them to escalate accordingly. The analyst will be proficient in writing reports and have a keen aptitude for research.

Responsibilities
- Monitoring of alerts to identify suspicious trading activity; escalate suspected market abuse, financial crime and rule breaches
- Review evidence and present surveillance/investigation findings and reports to Market Regulation management
- Produce Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports for submission to the relevant regulatory bodies
- Produce investigation reports to assist in determining appropriate disciplinary actions in accordance with the IFEU Rulebook
- Issue correspondence to Member firms and ensure cases are managed in a timely manner
- Assist in the ongoing testing and enhancement of surveillance controls; produce technical and procedural documentation as required
- Undertake ad-hoc project work
- Participate in the training of new Market Surveillance staff to ensure familiarity with all departmental systems and procedures
- Respond to general customer queries
Knowledge and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (Finance/Mathematics/Law/Engineering/Science or similar)
- Experience working within financial markets (2 years minimum). Good understanding of IFEU markets preferable
- Good understanding of the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and Money Laundering Directives
- Strong IT literacy skills
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interacting effectively at all levels
- Proficient at identifying problems and working efficiently to resolve
- Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and to deadlines
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
