Profile Criteria:
  1. Fully-Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) finance professional with significant post-qualification experience (min. 10 years PQE; the more the better) from the investment banking sector (ideally from a global banking business)
  2. Team management experience
  3. Extensive and detailed knowledge of IFRS, GAAPs and related reporting requirements and regulations as applied to a global banking business, including related aspects such as consolidation reporting.
  4. Exposure to banking products and financial instruments
  5. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and handling the related annual audit for investment banking and derivative products, and for the Parent bank
  • Responsible for investment banking business and Parent bank monthly, quarterly, and annual book closing
  • Responsible for maintaining the relationship and delivery with statutory auditors
  • Assess business impact and analysis of new accounting standards and prepare the organisation for compliance
  • Own production of insightful MI for stakeholders on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Prepare high quality Audit Committee and Finance Committee papers on financial performance and relevant issues
  • Fully support the audit and production of the investment banking business financial statements, and integration with the Parent bank
  • Responsible for new products review and providing front office advisory services in relation to existing and proposed transactions
  • Lead on providing finance input into complex transactions and working towards optimal business outcomes
  • To provide Parent bank Exco and the investment banking business Exco with timely and accurate results and related MI to allow monitoring of business performance and decision making
  • Enhance the quality and increasing the number of policy and technical documentation to ensure the Bank has a robust process and suitable level of documentation on accounting conclusions and is in line with good market practice.
  • Ensures that the various business lines are in compliance with accounting regulations by monitoring external developments, setting bank-wide accounting policies in line with IFRS, taking into account the Bank's business objectives, and ensuring all products and bookings are in line with these policies.
  • Ensures effective financial controls are in place to maintain the integrity of the financial reporting.
  • Assists senior management in preparation for relevant Management Committees, including the Parent bank and investment banking business' Executive Committee, Audit Committee, and other relevant management meetings as required.
  • Drives change (improvements, enhancement, efficiencies, controls) by setting appropriate goals and objectives for the team and managing their successful delivery
  • Collaborates and drives delivery across the wider team. Take ownership of optimising operating model to give consistent and standardised outputs
  • Takes the lead in driving change and optimising effective working across the team
