This is a new role within Central Business Services (CBS) for the management of Expenses services.

Central Business Services (CBS) is an organisation that provides various support services (such as HR, IT, Workplace, etc.) to the UK business along with some North South Europe (NSE) countries. We support the business and colleagues (our internal customers) and ensure they are provided exceptional service to meet all their needs in an efficient and intuitive way, with digital capability at the heart of this strategy.

We are seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record in managing Expenses processes and technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in process & control optimisation, and compliance, driving efficiency and accuracy in expense management while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The role will report into the CBS Finance Lead and will be responsible for :

Strategic Leadership
  • Contributing to the Expenses strategy, direction, and priorities, as part of the CBS leadership team.
  • Defining the strategy to optimise Expense operations from a cost and service perspective.

Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives, contributing to the overall success of CBS.
  • Working with a range of senior stakeholders to influence behavioural changes and drive compliance.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the end-to-end Expenses process, to ensure alignment with business objectives, seamless delivery of services and drive continuous improvement in internal delivery partner performance.
  • Managing senior stakeholders, e.g., partners, COOs, and other leadership members/executives' level across the firm.
  • Managing the relationship with the firm's Quality, Risk & Security [QRS] and Financial Crimes teams

Team Management & Development
  • Developing and mentoring teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and driving professional development initiatives.
  • Being a people leader, listening and understanding team's feedback, and building upon team's capabilities in line with organisation and team members' personal objectives.
  • Leading by example and promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, diversity, and a strong sense of belonging within the CBS Finance function.

Operational Excellence
  • Managing internal delivery partners (including working closely with Global Finance Services [GFS] as part of the extended delivery model) to drive operational excellence and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Expenses services.
  • Providing a client-centric experience while meeting agreed key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Managing non-compliance and fraud associated with Expenses.
  • Maintaining effective operational controls which will be relied upon by the firm's Chief Risk Officer to certify anti-fraud compliance.
  • Ensuring audit controls are effective through liaising with Internal Audit and internal delivery partners.

Innovation & Technology
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve end-to-end Expenses processes.
  • Embedding global & industry best practices within Expenses operations.

Governance

  • Championing Governance by driving key governance forums with senior stakeholders to set direction of travel, analyse performance, resolve key issues, and plan strategic initiatives.

  • Situational leadership skills to appropriately motivate, coach and mentor a team of varied roles.
  • Strong vendor management skills , with a track record of effectively managing relationships with vendors and internal delivery partners and driving continuous improvement in their performance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement and transformation , with the ability to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and lead successful implementation initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication & influencing skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong networking skills to build relationships with senior leaders across the end-to-end value chains.

Desirable Experience:
  • Proven experience in leading Expenses operations.
  • Experience in managing vendors and delivery partners.
  • Experience in managing large-scale transformation projects
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and managing Concur
  • Experience in working in a partnership model.
  • Experience in working in multinational cross border environments.
