Your role
Are you an experienced lawyer with a strong interest in corporate finance transactions and/or custody markets? Do you have solid legal knowledge of banking and financial services regulations? Are you familiar with providing legal support to day-to-day business for financial institution under foreign (Swiss, German, English) jurisdiction?
We are looking for a person who:
- advises on all legal matters regarding credit financings with a focus on Swiss, English or German law governed syndicated loan agreements and related documents
- analyses rules and regulations of investment markets regarding custody account structures / restrictions
- reviews and negotiates agreements with financial service providers such as custodians, correspondent banks and brokers
- actively contributes to strategic business projects aimed at structuring and development of new banking products with both internal and external partners
- provides clear and precise legal advice to our business partners and other risk functions.
Your team
You will work in Personal and Corporate & Wealth Management Switzerland legal team, cooperating directly with highly skilled legal teams within, in particular Corporate Finance, Operations, Custody
& Execution, Digital Transformation, Strategic Projects and Legal Entity. We provide our business partners with high-quality, coherent advise and tailor-made solutions.
Your expertise
- a master degree in law and bar admission, additional relevant education (e.g. LL.M.) is a plus
- > 5 years of experience as a lawyer in a bank, other financial institution or international law firm, preferably in the field of transactions and/or custody services
- familiarity with additional jurisdiction (English law, Swiss law, or German law) required
- expertise in corporate lending (including acquisition financings) with a focus on participations in syndicated loans will be an additional advantage
- experience in project management, high resilience
- good problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for both the details and the big picture, able to identify and manage risks in a new and evolving business
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate and manage internal business partners and functions as well as external legal counsels, also in other locations
- ability to work independently under time pressure and meet ambitious deadlines
- fluency in spoken and written English required. Very good knowledge of German will be a considerable plus
