Job Description

We're recruiting for aFinance Operations Manager to join our Retail Operations team in Cardiff. The purpose of this role is to oversee on a day to day basis the Sonata Finance change Team they will be responsible for driving the change agenda within Finance Operations the reconciliation of customer assets (cash and investments) held by Personal Investing and Workplace Pension customers, ensuring customer assets are protected in line with FCA CASS regulations.to achieve business objectives. What you'll be doing:
  • Oversee a team of finance analyst to ensure all elements of change for Finance Operations are in place - requirements / build / test / business readiness
  • Aspire to be an AutoRek SME and champion, leading financial operations-driven changes with AutoRek, encompassing requirements, build, test, and business readiness. Aid in the continuous enhancement of the AutoRek application, as well as the operational processes and controls necessary for performing reconciliations and related tasks with maximum efficiency and reliability
  • Serve as the Finance Operations representative to assist with Sonata change activities, such as aiding other scrum teams and the testing team.
  • Identify the root cause of issues and provide recommendations to reduce repeated issues, taking ownership for issues identified and see them through to resolution
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Operations Reconciliations Team to enhance efficiency and ensure stability
  • Understand and apply the FCA and CASS rules governing client money treatment, calculations, and reconciliations, maintain knowledge to ensure compliance when designing processes
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:
  • Qualified accountant required
  • A working knowledge and understanding of Finance Reconciliation Processes
  • Knowledge of operational and banking systems, functions and processes and their impacts on client accounts
  • Have an understanding of L&G's products and funds and the related operational processes
  • Have an understanding of methods of reconciliation and data analysis
  • Have an understanding of agile change methodology within a Finance Team
  • Managerial experience preferably within a Finance setting
  • Reconciliation experience essential, knowledge of AutoRek or a similar automatic reconciliation tool being advantageous
  • Finance change & Testing experience
  • Understands own work in the wider business context, has sufficient knowledge to recognise if the output is broadly in line with expectations or if there are obvious errors, makes judgements (under some guidance) about action to take and whether an issue needs to be notified or escalated
  • Previous experience in a technical accounting/information role and excellent numeracy, investigation and financial problem solving skills
