This is a critical role that will have a tremendous impact on Sea to Summit's European business as the company continues to scale and grow globally.
This individual will be a key business partner responsible for developing and maintaining financial reports, analyses, planning and budget control (Managerial and corporate reporting, audit and tax engagements).
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive financial reporting for Europe in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Manage all financial functions, including payroll, general ledger accuracy, and intercompany accounting.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team in Germany and Norway.
- Prepare monthly accruals, journal entries, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Work with department heads on budget information, consolidation, and communication to global finance.
- Prepare monthly actual vs budget reports, variance analysis, and financial forecasts.
- Present financial status in business unit reviews.
- Oversee banking activity and manage external tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with European tax regulations, including filings and payments.
- Support global finance with due diligence and audits.
- Develop financial strategies to support regional growth and align with global objectives.
- Collaborate with various departments and support organizational objectives as assigned.
The Successful Applicant
- Completed bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting, ideally with a CPA certification
- 5-10 years in accounting or related field, with international tax experience.
- Experience reporting to a remote manager in a different time zone.
- Experience working in a similar role in Switzerland
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in small organizations and small teams with 360 degrees responsibility/oversight on Finance and Accounting
- Knowledge of financial/accounting principles and International Accounting Standards.
- High attention to detail and proven leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Netsuite experience is a plus.
- Extensive experience with European tax regulations and compliance.
- Experience with fast-growing consumer brands sold through retail and eCommerce channels.
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills, adaptability, and resilience.
- Ability to work in a fast-growing, team-first environment
- fluency in German or French
