Role Purpose:
The role is created to develop FTSE Russell's Structured Product Solutions, focusing on data and product research targeted to the community of hedge fund portfolio managers, prop traders, and other similar functions, often within traditional buy-side segments. The role also encompasses the development of systematic quantitative and risk premia strategies as well as the cooperation with research to develop, acquire or integrate a range of equity risk models targeted at factor investing strategies and portfolio optimisations

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop customer-facing white papers and detailed technical documentation on index specifications and construction features.
- Analyze use cases for hedge funds and proprietary trading desks investing in indices and replicating investment allocations.
- Design specific data packages in partnership with sales, products, and other functions.
- Elaborate on a commercial strategy in partnership with sales and marketing to address quant investor needs.
- Create a range of simple alpha strategies aimed at providing elementary systematic trading exposures and risk factors for portfolio managers.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to answer hedge fund inquiries related to client services and track themes being investigated by this client segment.
- Work in cooperation with marketing to develop client segment-specific literature and outreach strategies.
- Determine how to increase engagement with the client segment across the range of relevant LSEG data, tools, and analytics.
- Partner with policy and governance teams to define roadmaps and protocols relating to these initiatives.
- Participate in research initiatives, including the development or commissioning of equity factor models and factor decomposition models.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of programming, particularly in languages such as Python or R.
- Extensive experience with quantitative models, systematic investment strategies, and factor-based analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in advanced discussions with knowledgeable counterparts and translate complex quant concepts into actionable strategies.
- Specific knowledge of how hedge funds, prop trading institutions, or specialized quant research groups function.
