The Role
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to provide advice and recommendations on procurements to both internal and external stakeholders while supporting the achievement of APRA's corporate strategies, policies and procedures.
The Team
The Procurement team is a member of the CFO team within the Chief of Staff and Enterprise Services Division of APRA. This division is responsible for supporting the achievement of APRA's corporate strategies, policies and procedures. This involves the delivery of various services to APRA's internal clients and external stakeholders utilising both internal and external resources.

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to provide advice and recommendations on procurements to both internal and external stakeholders while supporting the achievement of APRA's corporate strategies, policies and procedures.
The Team
The Procurement team is a member of the CFO team within the Chief of Staff and Enterprise Services Division of APRA. This division is responsible for supporting the achievement of APRA's corporate strategies, policies and procedures. This involves the delivery of various services to APRA's internal clients and external stakeholders utilising both internal and external resources.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process including drafting of tendering documents and contract documentation;
- Negotiate and support the business to deliver 'value for money' procurements and ensure APRA makes sound commercial decisions;
- Identify and manage potential procurement and contract delivery issues or risks;
- Develop and maintain up to date contract documentation (e.g contract variations), procedures, data and records and ensure timely communication of relevant information;
- Contract management of high value or strategic contracts;
- Maintain a focus on creating collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise potential opportunities that support efficiencies and savings; and
- Ensure that all Procurements comply with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the PGPA act.
About you
- Proven experience in end-to-end procurement;
- Highly developed self-management, time management and prioritising skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment;
- Contract Management experience preferable;
- Experience with computer assisted procurement systems and processes;
- Demonstrated investigative and analytical skills including the ability to use MS Excel, Database and Reporting systems;
- Excellent communication skills at all levels (written and verbal) and the ability to undertake negotiations with external and internal stakeholders of all levels in the resolution of disputes;
- Strong stakeholder engagement, excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills;
- A continuous improvement mindset looking for ways to improve our ways of working; and
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
