Verus is in search of a Portfolio Manager to join our office in Seattle, WA. Our office culture is one that values in-person collaboration and interaction. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in multi-asset portfolio management, trading, manager research, and/or institutional consulting.  Candidates must be organized, have strong analytical skills, and be exceptionally detail and process orientated. 

 

The Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for constructing and managing multi-asset portfolios over which we have discretion, performing appropriate research and analysis on possible investment strategies for inclusion in portfolios. They will collaborate closely with our capital markets and manager research teams to identify asset allocation opportunities and managers across all asset classes including public and private markets.  They will function as part of the investment team in setting the strategic investment direction for the firm and in implementation for clients by translating agreed structure and tilts into individual portfolios. They will play a critical role in implementation, with clear responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of portfolio implementation and working alongside the operations team to ensure effective trading outcomes.  They will interact with consultants and clients throughout the investment process to ensure client objectives and constraints are properly addressed. 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage specific discretionary investment portfolios, through the onboarding and building out of an asset allocation with the client and in the ongoing management of the portfolios including asset allocation, portfolio tilt implementation, investment manager selection, portfolio rebalancing, and trading; Act as a key interaction point with clients, prospects, and external third parties as needed to represent the firm, communicate investment ideas and provide exceptional service; Consistently work to make portfolio management processes and tools more efficient and scalable, identifying possible efficiencies and building solutions to eliminate them; Ensure flawless portfolio management and trading with zero failures impacting clients; Work as part of an integrated investment team, participating in the creation of intellectual capital as needed and as directed by the CIO, and in particular working closely with the broader investment team on creating new thinking around strategic asset allocation, shorter term tilting, and portfolio construction ideas and presenting these ideas internally and externally in both presentation and publication formats

 

 

Prerequisites:

Bachelor’s Degree required; CFA charter holder (or progression towards achieving the designation); Master’s Degree and CAIA highly desirable; Strong technical capabilities and exceptional attention to detail 

 

Salary:

$90,000 - $150,000 DOE

 

 

The base salary range in this job posting represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this specific position and its unique job function within a specific job category.  Salary offered to candidates is determined by factoring in market pay for the job function and job category, internal peer equity, education, credentials, relevant skills and expertise, past employment experience, and geographic pay differentials.
