Job Description

Findex are currently looking for a SMSF Manager to join our dynamic team! This role is flexible to being based in Mildura, Adelaide or one of our Tasmanian offices depending on the person.

The SMSF Manager will lead a team of 4-6 accounting staff, to ensure that we deliver accurate superannuation compliance services to clients in a timely manner.

As SMSF Manager you will coach, empower, and support your team members to deliver outcomes that are timely, relevant and accurate. This will be achieved by reviewing team members' work to ensure correct accounting and taxation standards are applied. Liaising with internal & external financial planners, accountants and other stakeholders to monitor and drive our workflows, aiming at optimal utilisation of resources

What will your typical week look like?

• Plan workflow for the coming week. Aiming to ensure that staff members have work commensurate with their experience and achieve a good utilisation of resources.
• Conduct final review of processed funds in preparation for audit, following standards and procedures of Findex best practice
• Mentor and coach your team to meet their goals and targets whilst constantly improving the quality of what we do and growing the skills and abilities of our people.
• Work with the SMSF partner and other client leads to successfully achieve both compliance and advisory outcomes that deliver for both our clients and our business.

You are someone with...

• Proven SMSF Accounting experience
• Leadership experience within a public practice setting (advantageous)
• People management skills and the ability to successfully monitor the workflow of their direct reports
• Experience in a broad range of tax, accounting and business matters
