Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations & Procurement, this position shall manage the GA BAU section by ensuring that the GL process is performed on a daily/monthly basis by following the applicable standard operating procedures and internal policies.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Update the relevant standard operating procedures to ensure relevance, as and when required.
- Work closely with the relevant stakeholders on any issue arising from GA.
- Provide support on material issues identified from audit by external auditors, GwIA & Regional SOX team for GA related area.
- Regularly engage in systems enhancement initiatives to improvise Finance Operations processes.
- Assist on any ad hoc & administrative tasks upon request.
- Review daily GA BAU tasks and ensure team members complete GA BAU timely and properly.
- Review month-end closing tasks and ensure team members complete month-end closing as per timeline.
- Ensure unresolved issues are followed-up and resolved proactively. Escalate issues identified to management, where appropriate.
Job Specifications:
Education
- Bachelor or Degree in finance, accountancy, banking, investment, economics or equivalent.
- Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.) or working towards designation will be an added advantage.
Experience
- At least 5 years of working experience in the financial services industry such as insurance or banking.
- At least 2 years of working experience in a supervisory and managerial role.
- Working experience in the financial services industry such as insurance or banking will be an added advantage.
Special Business Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications & financial accounting system.
- Knowledge in any bank reconciliation system will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and resolution skills
Others
- Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Independent, organized and possess good work ethics with a positive attitude.
- Flexible and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to details, meticulous and diligent.
- Strict compliance with all applicable deadlines and able to work under pressure.
