Description of the Business Line or Department
The FIC financial engineer will focus on:
• Structuring solutions:
- Design, price, propose and execute FIC structures and payoffs to embed into global hedging solutions or investment products for final clients
- Integration of all accounting, tax and legal constraints in liaise with internal specialists
• Product innovation:
- Extend and promote fixed income and currency product offer by creating new payoffs
- Organise meetings with sales and trading for trade ideas, organize new development request and order their level of priority, in collaboration with sales, trading and quants
- Perform price simulation including back-testing or forward-testing of products and strategies
• Trade idea generation
- Market intelligence: geographic activity monitoring of product popularity
- Client intelligence, client targeting with sale force
- Leverage on economic research: collect and incorporate economic rationale into product offer
• Promotion and Sales support
- Organize regular product campaigns defined with sale force and trading, promote solutions to marketers, bankers and clients
- Collaborate to client pitches, to client seminars, to client targeting
- Redaction with marketing dedicated teams of attractive and comprehensive marketing documents with product description, benefits/risks simulations, market or economic rationale, accounting treatment
- Build generic term sheets, liaise with sale force for specific ones
• Leveraging - Replicating
- Organize and circulate deal information among sales, to foster pooling of interest, achieve greater notional for issues, extract more P&L from the same structure sold to one client
• Pricing
- Price exotic derivatives structures, compute technical margin, cross-checks with traders
• Booking
- Define optimized booking for the structures
- Streamline the front-to-back processes
• Deal execution
- Management of deal execution by coordination between sales and traders
- Monitoring with sales the margin strategy
• Deal post-execution follow-up
- Ensure documentation is accurate and exhaustive (internal documentation, term-sheet, internal tickets, legal documentation, set-up of booking and alerts, set-up of provisioning scheme, margin allocation method and enforcement

Profile required
Competencies
- The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in Mathematics or a related field
- They will have a demonstrable interest in and understanding of financial markets
- Some work experience in a similar field is advantageous
- Excellent pricing skills
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent level of written and spoken English; other languages advantageous
- Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work autonomously and use initiative
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work to deadlines in a busy office environment
