Role summary
This role provides advice and support on technical accounting matters and ensures that accounting policies are in line with best practice and regulatory developments. This role also assists in preparing the consolidated accounts, including the stand alone LSEG plc accounts.

This role provides advice and support on technical accounting matters and ensures that accounting policies are in line with best practice and regulatory developments. This role also assists in preparing the consolidated accounts, including the stand alone LSEG plc accounts.
What you will be doing
- Prepare allocated notes to the Group's consolidated accounts (at the interim and full year reporting dates).
- Prepare the LSEG plc stand alone accounts.
- Draft, implement and maintain the Group accounting policy guidance.
- Assist with any technical accounting issues or queries.
- Provide training on existing and new accounting requirements and standards to the Finance team, and/or communicate accounting updates on a regular basis.
- Design and implement improvements to the financial reporting activities, transaction flows and processes.
- Prepare high quality accounting papers and related supporting work papers for management and the external auditors.
- Degree (or equivalent) and qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
- 3 years plus PQE.
- Extensive and current knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards.
- Strong background in:
- Technical accounting (principally IFRS, US GAAP useful);
- Cross geographical reporting lines and global relationships; and
- Preparing statutory accounts.
- Ability to build strong working relationships.
- Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
- Pro-active behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
- Ability to utilise all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.
- Strong planning and prioritising skills according to business needs.
