Core Purpose
To produce valuation models and insights as part of the Valuation Team to facilitate better investment decision making and monitoring, ensuring that clients are treated fairly and support the core objective of achieving the secure and sustainable payment of members' pensions.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Senior Valuation Manager in drafting valuation memos and reports for presentation at the fair value pricing committee ("FVPC") and to other committees/stakeholders (as required).
2. Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with Investment Teams, Fund & Investment Accounting and the wider Fiduciary and Investment Management Team.
3. Liaise with external valuation providers that carry out the regular valuations of certain assets within the portfolio.
4. Provide valuation review and analysis in relation to Private Markets, Real Assets and other illiquid investments under the guidance of the Senior Valuation Manager. Including developing/enhancing internal valuation models, supporting with review of valuation models/market data and other considerations in relation to new and existing private market investments. Where possible, you will take ownership of certain internal valuation models.
5. Support with the implementation of the valuation policy for the identification, monitoring and ongoing investment valuation of difficult to value investments across all portfolios.
Experience
You will have valued investments and built financial models and have an understanding of Private Equity, Private Debt and Real Asset investments.
You will have the ability to construct and review valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, Comparable Company/M&A Transaction analysis and have a thorough understanding of modelling best practice and applicable valuation guidelines (e.g. IPEV, AICPA). It would be an advantage if you are familiar with Bloomberg. S&P CapitalIQ and/or other financial data providers.

Where necessary, you will raise challenges with the Senior Valuation Manager / Investment Team / other stakeholders to ensure valuation output is of the highest quality.
