The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the buzz of a recent tech breakthrough; we work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy we're known for. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

What's the role?
At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership.

Global Procurement supports both the strategic sourcing and operational purchasing of goods and services for the organization. What does that mean? We procure and distribute the goods and services that Bloomberg needs to do business. We handle any vendor-related risks and deliver the best customer service in the world. We understand urgency, work hard, have commercial acumen and are customer service driven. Our clients internally and externally count on us daily. Our team is tight, but our culture is wide open, where we challenge and support each other's creative ideas to remain first-class.

The role of the Responsible Procurement manager will be to build and drive a responsible procurement supplier engagement program that is incorporated into our ongoing operations. The aim of this role is to help meet our corporate sustainability and D&I goals where these are in place and help develop where they are not, help to comply with increasing government reporting and legal requirements (e.g., Modern Slavery), and ensure internal as well as external customer reporting needs can be met. This is an opportunity to participate in sustainable development projects, contribute to environmental protection and promote D&I. In doing so, you'll build a close partnership with the Sustainability Department, Diversity & Inclusion Department, Sourcing and Procurement colleagues, and other various stakeholders.

We'll trust you to:
  • Use your expertise to assist in the definition and evolution of the Responsible Procurement function
  • Develop partnerships and collaborate with the Sustainability Department, Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Procurement teams to identify responsible procurement opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that responsible procurement is included in their strategies and action plans
  • Serve as the central Procurement contact for D&I and Sustainability and establish excellent working relationships that can help drive the program forward
  • Assess the existing vendor base for sustainability, supplier diversity, and alignment with our supplier code of conduct
  • Develop, implement, and oversee policies and governance around responsible procurement; work with the Sustainability Department to establish on-going education for our Procurement team to embed responsible procurement as part of their day to day thought process and ongoing operations
  • Support sustainability efforts by assisting with vendor focused ESG questionnaires and impact reporting
  • Identify and support continuing procurement initiatives related to sustainability and social responsibility
  • Establish KPI reporting mechanisms to measure program effectiveness
  • Develop ongoing reporting that can be given to our customers upon request that satisfies their own reporting obligations, considering feedback from the Sustainability Office, Diversity & other stakeholders
  • Track and identify trends and best practices to continuously improve sustainability/corporate responsibility in purchasing

You'll need to have:
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in Procurement with at least 2+ years in Responsible Procurement
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Broad subject matter expertise in Procurement categories
  • Strong data analysis skills to guide creative problem solving and reporting
  • The ability to drive program forward with minimal guidance (we look to your expertise to build the function)
  • Excellent organizational and effective interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • The ability to drive decisions and outcome through influence and partnership
  • Strong MS excel skills

We'd love to see:
  • Strong network of industry influencers
  • Passion for consistent learning, especially in the ever-evolving global regulatory environment
