The impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Tax team, the Tax Associate is responsible for assisting global tax compliance work (which includes corporate income tax, VAT/GST, Sales/Use, and withholding tax) for the respective DTCC entities. They ensure internal policies/procedures and relevant controls are in place, and monitor capabilities that exist to assess performance and that all policies and procedures are accurately documented. The role is required to fulfill all other fiduciary duties of tax and compliance responsibilities.

What You'll Do
  • Work on various global tax matters including income taxes/indirect taxes (e.g., VAT/GST, Sales/Use tax) with the Manila and US based tax teams.
  • Prepares and files monthly/quarterly sales/use tax returns including tax account reconciliation and standard journal entries.
  • Prepare and analyze corporate income tax workpaper and being able to understand accounting system to extract necessary data.
  • Ability to work and communicate with the various departments i.e. Accounts Payable, Payroll/HR, Billing, Collection team, Treasury and General Ledger Reconciliation team, to collate relevant information as necessary with assigned duties.
  • Analyzes, recommends, and implements initiatives to streamline tax compliance process including sales/use tax, corporate income tax, and tax software preparation.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and reviews preliminary tax audit adjustment provided by taxing authorities.
  • Extract and analyze accounting GL details for indirect & corporate income tax purposes
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

Sound Like You?
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:
  • 3 to 5 years of financial accounting experience. Knowledge of finance, accounting, corporate tax and VAT/GST.
  • Experience in regional tax is an added advantage but not a must
  • Proficiency in CCH Intelliconnect or other tax research tools. Experience with Oracle, Thomson Reuters OneSource or Vertex O Series Sales & Use system is a plus
  • Degree qualified (Accounting Major) / CPA preferred
