Job Description

Summary:

Ares Management Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chartered Accountant within the International Statutory Reporting team in Singapore. This role will have the responsibility of ensuring financial statutory and regulatory reporting is performed accurately and timely at subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information for both US GAAP and local reporting.
  • Being a point of contact of questions and elevations of issues, including working with the respective business and support teams in Asia and SEC teams in California and Mumbai.
  • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial compliance reports.
  • Understand and ensure tax compliance, including but not limited to corporate tax, GST/VAT and transfer pricing reporting.
  • Facilitate and oversee completion of financial and tax audits.
  • Ensure implementation of accounting function, including ongoing regulatory compliance as new offices are opened in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Actively participate in global and regional projects to enhance controls, processes and/or system efficiency.
  • Collaboration with Accounts Payable, Treasury and other finance teams in different offices globally.
  • Review recommend processes to enhance efficiency.

Education:
  • Chartered Accountant with post-qualification experience of 6+ years.

Experience Required:
  • Both public and private accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge across a variety of countries in Asia Pacific including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Mauritius, Philippines, South Korea and Australia.
  • Strong project management skills across numerous activities and teams.
  • Should be a strong motivator to drive the entire team.
  • Financial services/asset management organization experience.
  • Familiarity with regional financial regulatory requirements (MAS, SFC, ASIC).
  • US GAAP and IFRS proficiency.
  • Preferred experience with Fusion/Oracle/OneStream.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tool a plus.

  • An analytical mind and a passion/interest in bringing new ideas to increase efficiency of existing processes.
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of hours to coordinate with team members across various time zones.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and to develop an effective course of action.
  • Hands-on, independent contributor that is comfortable directing activities of others.
  • Proactive in nature and a proven ability to learn quickly, display flexibility and adaptability while resolving issues with minimal supervision.
