Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions, in accordance with Accounts Payable procedures.

  • Receive and review invoices from vendors, service providers, and other entities. Verify the general ledger coding and authorization approval levels.
  • Prepare and process payments for approved invoices and expenses. Ensure payments are made on time and accurately using internal systems and affiliate banking portals.
  • Communicate with other departments and vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and issue resolution. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Adhere to company & department policies, procedures, and internal controls related to accounts payable and expense management.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems to enter data, process transactions, and generate reports.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as requested.
  • Cross-train and assist with Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. College level coursework in Accounting preferred.

Experience: Generally, 1 to 3 years of related experience. Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with multiple systems preferred.
