The role
As a Senior Analyst you will undertake high quality financial and non-financial risk analysis of the entity and peers, confidently engage stakeholders, and effectively support the Senior Manager in executing the team's supervision strategy.

The Banking Division is responsible for the supervision of all authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADIs). It supports APRA's core function through prudential supervision and risk assessment activities to support the government and APRA's objective of maintaining a prudentially sound financial system.

The team

It supports APRA's core function through prudential supervision and risk assessment activities to support the government and APRA's objective of maintaining a prudentially sound financial system.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify prudential risks and raise concerns before they manifest;
- Undertake financial and non-financial analysis and apply knowledge of APRA's prudential standards and guidance to support high-quality analysis and risk assessments;
- Engage and collaborate with teams across APRA, including specialists, supervisors, and policy advisors, as needed to address supervisory issues;
- Produce succinct, accurate and timely briefings and documents for executives and senior management;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of market and industry developments that may have an impact on supervised entities and/or APRA's supervision approach;
- Good understanding of the banking industry and its risks; and
- Good knowledge of APRA's prudential standards and guidance for ADIs.
About you
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, and the ability to operate with an agile and flexible approach;
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills to develop solutions for complex issues;
- You will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills for advising internal and external stakeholder;
- Up to date with market trends and legislative environment;
- Strong financial analysis, investigative and research skills;
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; and
- A positive mindset and will be a team player.
