The Finance team is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, purchasing and procurement, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The Finance team produces regular reports and ad hoc analysis for internal and external use. This role would be a permanent role to support the Head and the team to produce the analysis and the output presentations for such needs across the business.

Purpose

To assist the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) with reporting of operating expenses, budgeting, forecasting and portfolio analysis to senior management, the board and to the Shareholder. To play a pivotal role in the development and tracking of the appropriate markers and key performance indicators for the business and for the support functions throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of the monthly operating costs review including headcount reporting.
Prepare monthly operating expense reports by cost centre, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct expense accounts, projects and business units.
Monitor the actual spend by cost type and by cost centre versus budget.
Conduct regular and thorough variance analysis of actuals to budget and write meaningful commentaries.
Work closely with the colleagues in the Accounting and the Accounts Payable teams to monitor and review General Ledger entries and balances.
Run the monthly General Ledger review.
Undertake selected responsibilities in relation to preparation of the monthly forecasting.
Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget.
Contribute to the design and delivery of a fully absorbed profit and loss management reporting by business group.
Provide detailed financial analysis when required.
Assist with the build-out of bespoke monthly reporting for Executive Committee Heads.
Assist with preparing the quarterly CEO & management reports.
Participate in Finance projects including the general ledger reimplementation.
Prepare portfolio analytics and reporting.
Produce materials for internal reviews, Markets Committee, Executive Committee, or Board, as required.
Play an active role in maintaining FP&A's relationships with business managers, senior management, and other stakeholders throughout the business, engaging in regular dialogue on the matters related to expense reporting versus budget by cost centre.
Share responsibilities related to monitoring the FP&A shared inbox for incoming queries and answer questions from the business.

The candidate
Background and technical skills

Qualified accountant with suitable FP&A experience, preferably from a large organisation and, ideally, financials services.
Strong numerical, analytics and data management skills.
Capable of working with large data sets and distilling conclusions clearly and succinctly.
Advanced Excel
Good working knowledge of PowerPoint and experience of preparing presentations.
Effective communications skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
Solid command of the written word and experience of writing business commentaries. Experience in using Infor SunSystems and Q&A software.
Conversant with Concur Expense, Concur Invoice and Concur Intelligence modules.
A working knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage.
Ability to work independently to tackle and solve complex issues.
