About the Firm: Monticello Associates, Inc. is an investment consulting firm serving foundations, endowments, and family office clients in an investment advisory capacity. About the Role: This Investment Analyst will support the Vice President of Global Equities in our Denver-based Research department, focusing on investment manager research and due diligence. The daily workflow involves meeting with investment managers, generating research notes and formal reports, tracking and analyzing performance and exposures, and other ad hoc projects. The role requires leading and completing various projects under strict deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Attend meetings with investment managers and prepare post-meeting reports for dissemination to colleagues across the organization and to clients
• Create and update investment manager reports used for reviews and recommendations to clients
• Assist with underwriting new investment ideas by analyzing firm background, investment strategy, historical performance, portfolio positioning, and fund terms
• Utilize investment tools including eVestment, Bloomberg, MSCI ESG, and Dasseti to conduct manager analysis and comparisons as well as evaluate ESG and DEI data in support of client searches
• Create asset class reviews summarizing major trends, including macroeconomic backdrop, performance drivers, competitive landscape, and key client considerations

Investment Analysts will receive mentorship from Research department Vice Presidents and investment consultants. The role may require periodic travel to visit with managers on-site, attend industry conferences, and collaborate with colleagues in other offices.

Base salary is commensurate with experience (target range of $80,000 to $110,000 per year) and the Investment Analyst has the potential to earn an annual performance bonus. The firm also supports ongoing education, including pursuing the CFA designation. 

About You:

• Undergraduate degree (academic concentration in economics, finance, or business is preferred)
• 2-5 years of experience within the financial services industry through internships or full-time positions with a preference for experience at a foundation, endowment, family office, or consultant
• Excellent written communication skills (a writing sample is required for consideration)
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and organize competing priorities and deadlines
• Analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills with high attention to detail Intellectual curiosity and desire for constant learning
• Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of capital markets and securities analysis; specific asset class experience is a plus
• Experience with investment technology (Bloomberg, eVestment, etc) is a plus
