Position Summary
The Vice President, Portfolio Management, is responsible for leading Covenant Trust’s investment services. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical investment strategies, spearheading manager selection and asset allocation, regularly meeting with and giving investment presentations to clients, and overseeing investment communications. The VP, Portfolio Management, collaborates with other leaders in serving Covenant Trust clients and oversees the collaboration between the investment function and related operational teams. The VP serves as the primary point of contact for Covenant Trust clients, collaborating with clients to understand their financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with a concentration in Investments, Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics. CFA highly desirable. Eight to ten years of investment management or related work experience. Non-profit institutional investing experience a plus. Strong working knowledge of securities, portfolio construction and financial markets. Experience with Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg Terminal, or a similar financial/investment data provider’s software. Excellent management skills. Three years of experience in a supervisory role desirable. A heart for serving others and a passion for helping individuals and mission-centered institutions achieve their financial and charitable purposes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate investment strategies and interact effectively with clients. Excellent customer service skills; excellent interpersonal skills for a quality working relationship with accountants, State of Illinois regulatory personnel, CPA audit personnel, Covenant Trust staff, vendors, and other service representatives. Must be self-directed and motivated, able to work independently with excellent follow through and attention to detail, yet also able to work collaboratively with others.

- Monday through Friday work schedule with flexible daytime hours
- 3-days per week in the Chicago office and 2-days remote (after a period of orientation)
