Head of Finance - Asset Management (FTC)

THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners are working with a leading asset manager based in Paris who is looking for a Head of Finance to join their team for an 8-month maternity cover. The role will report to the CFO and will involve leading the Finance Department in areas such as Corporate Accounting, Regulatory/Fiscal Reporting, and Team Management.

THE ROLE:

Corporate Accounting

• Monthly review of management accounts, including communication of accounts, KPI's, and variance explanations to the controlling shareholder.
• Drafting Management's assessments of key accounting areas such as Going Concern, Impairment Analysis, and Collectability of Receivables.
• Lead the quarterly forecasting process, explaining key variances to shareholders.
• Monthly preparation and review of management accounts
• Lead the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting exercises.

Regulatory/Fiscal Reporting

• Review of Interim and Year-End preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements
• Review of Quarterly regulatory reporting to both UK and Luxembourg Regulators.
• Interacting with UK, Luxembourg, and French tax advisers for the preparation and submission of VAT and Corporate Income Tax returns.

Management

• Lead Corporate finance Department (oversight of 3 to 4 Corporate Accountants)
• Provide support to management regarding Budget to Actual variances and financial implications of key decisions.
• Ensure that Interim and Year End audits are on track and acting as the primary point of escalation
• Ensure that the system of peer review implemented amongst corporate accountants is operating effectively

THE REQUIREMENTS:

• 8 to 10 years' experience in external Audit/Corporate Finance environment
• Speak/Read/Write French Fluently
• Knowledge of Accounting/Corporate Finance/Taxation/HR of a France-based business
• Qualified Accountant
• Experience in asset management
• Experience in coordinating an audit
• Extensive experience in IFRS
• Experience in Forecasting/Budgeting
• Experience in managing a team
