As the Data Management lead, you will be at the forefront of our data initiatives with the exciting mission of improving the value and utility of data and applying proactive and consistent adherence to the data management policy and standard for the Institutional Banking Group.
This role acts as a proxy for the data owner and a subject matter expert on data management practices, regulations and industry standards for corporate banking business across locations.

Responsibilities
Data Stewardship (Strategy, Governance and Data Quality):
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with our business objectives
- Convert business meanings of data usage regulations and ethical standards to controls at scale
- Lead and develop sound, accurate and complete technical documentation, facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams towards tangible data quality improvements
- Drive a data-driven culture, drive up value of data to meet the needs of current and planned business use cases
- Define critical data attributes and data quality requirements
- Leverage data analytics to support strategic business objectives
- Drive and enable cross collaboration
- Point of escalation for resolving strategic and cross-application data issues
- Enforce data-related policies and standards
- Prioritise data practices
- Ensure fitness of data for operational and strategic use
- Application of data management practices, regulations and industry standards for corporate banking business across locations
- Expertise to develop scalable and pragmatic controls related to data
- Appreciation and basic understanding of the data infrastructure
- Perform comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses and exploratory, forward-looking assessments independently and proactively to extract actionable insights
- Create insightful presentation that facilitates decision making and to engage stakeholder
- Build effective relationship with senior stakeholders to influence leads across various levels to act
- Evangelise, mobilise and activate a broader part of IBG towards the Data management outcomes
- Put in place a practical implementation plan (Operating Rhythm and Operating Model) to deliver on our objectives
- Communicate the Operating Model to broader audiences in IBG and share progress made regularly.
- Identify key areas for attention and ensure the right stakeholders are made aware and are equipped to act
- Familiar with fast changing industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in Data Management practices
- Demonstrate out of the box thinking, not accepting status quo, consistently looking for opportunities to enhance areas of focus
- Display a strong initiative for pro-actively anticipating and meeting the business demands and proactive compliance
- Mentor and develop a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Ability to lead and influence cross functional teams

- Proven experience and breadth in experience across data infrastructure, data ingestion, data policies and governance with hands-on experience in guiding and executing initiatives with degree of complexity to completion
- Outstanding technical specialising data quality principles, data modelling techniques and data management best practices with a business instinct.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; confidence in making informed decision
- Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex data issues, advocate new policies to varied audience
- Skilled in preparing effective and well-structured presentations with clear narratives and data analysis to varied audience
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high intensity and ambiguous environment and possess a high level of intellectual curiosity
- Demonstrated ability to thrive with minimal oversight and process. You connect the dots across business needs and independently drive initiatives and cross functional engagements forward
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful self-starter with the ability to think strategically for the business through a data lens

- Understanding of the corporate banking business
- Knowledge of specific data regulations and guidelines
- University level degree
- Technical skills: SQL, Python
- Knowledge: Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Cataloging, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), Data Security, understanding of Big Data framework (such as Hadoop, Spark), Data warehousing, Cloud Platforms (AWS), familiarity with Data Management software solution, Data Privacy, Data Quality Management
