The key purpose of the Risk & Compliance Consultant is to provide risk and compliance guidance and support across Finance & Advice to achieve a well-managed environment, through delivery of policy, regulatory, legislation, contractual requirements as applicable.

What you'll do:
  • Support the operationalising of frameworks and standards, ensuring a consistent application across Finance & Advice teams enabling Finance & Advice to make better business decisions.
  • Facilitate the completion of the annual, and dynamic risk assessments with EGM approval.
  • Work directly with the business to support incident and breach identification, management, and remediation activities.
  • Contribute to risk and compliance activities that allows Finance & Advice to strengthen capability and culture.
  • Assist in the identification of control weakness and work with the business to strengthen the control environment.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to execute the Finance & Advice Control Testing Program.
  • Maintain test plans and outcomes for control testing activities for Finance & Advice teams within the Group reporting tool (i.e. IRIIS).
  • Ensure IRIIS (IBM Open Pages) accurately reflects Finance & Advice risks, obligations, and controls, and validate incidents, breaches and reporting.
  • Complete ad-hoc work as required to support the delivery of Finance & Advice strategic objectives.

What you'll bring
  • University level qualification in related field - Desired
  • 3+ years' experience in financial services with a strong focus on risk, compliance, governance and/or control assurance
  • Strong stakeholder skills, including co-ordination of key programs of work
  • Understanding of Suncorp Policies, Frameworks and Standards with respect to Control Assurance, Risk and Compliance Obligations
  • Understand regulation and legislation related to the Financial Services industry
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality
