To perform accounting and reporting activities ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data, and to liaise with external and internal customers to formulate and implement policy.
Primary Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance on provided legislations, industry codes, company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve systems and procedures
• Ensure all processes are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations
• Work with stakeholders to maximize opportunities, minimize expenses and achieve operational and service targets
• Implement assigned policies and procedures
• Perform data preparation and basic data management on Group, Statutory and Regulatory Reporting processes including design, development, implementation and process improvement activities
• Timely and accurate delivery and maintenance of accurate reports and accounts, financial returns, as required
• Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records, reports and accounts, financial returns, as required
• Support ad hoc requests in addition to primary responsibilities
• Serves as a single point of contact for Counterparts, Consultants and Internal and External Audit teams
• Deliver accurate financial reporting metrics by analyzing financial data, performing complex data entry, verifying accuracy and collaborating with senior leadership as needed
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
• 3 years relevant experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
• Must be a Certified Public Account (CPA)
Preferred Competencies/Skills
• Effective communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Teamwork - able to collaborate and work flexibly with others
• Problem solving skills
• Good MS Office skills
• Strong skills in spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures
Preferred Knowledge
• Knowledge of appropriate regulatory/statutory frameworks and how they impact on the insurance sectors is preferred
• Good knowledge of relevant software and tools is preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Organizational Accounting Procedures
• Thorough understanding of Best Practice in Accounting
• Extensive Knowledge of General Insurance Terminologies, Accounts and Class of Business
