Investment Services Private Markets

We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC's private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

Finance & Accounting

You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC's investments.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.

We are seeking an experienced Vice President to focus on outsourcing and investment operations to lead our efforts in implementing outsourcing solutions within the private market space covering hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure, integrated strategies and real estate. This pivotal role involves managing outsourced administrators, identifying, and executing outsourcing strategies, and ensuring the seamless integration of these solutions into our investment operations. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support finance operations throughout the investment's life cycle.

What will you do as an VP in Controllers?

Investment and Finance Operations
  • Work closely with in-house teams on identifying opportunities for outsourcing across private and alternative investment and finance operational processes
  • Run an oversight program (e.g., through variance analysis, anomaly detection, etc.) to ensure quality of outsourced deliverables

Outsourcing Strategy and Implementation:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive outsourcing strategy for private and alternative asset types
  • Identify external capabilities in an evolving administration industry and conduct thorough due diligence to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards
  • Manage implementation projects to integrate outsourced services seamlessly into existing processes and systems by collaborating with internal business and technology teams
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of outsourcing contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions
  • Leverage on prior operations experience to ensure accurate and timely operational support for private and alternative assets
  • Act as a key advisor to senior management on outsourcing strategies and investment operations
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging best practices in outsourcing and fund accounting

Management of Outsourced Administrators:
  • Oversee the performance of outsourced administrators, ensuring they meet service level agreements and deliver high-quality services
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with outsourcing partners, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of outsourced administrators to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of outsourcing initiatives on operational performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement

Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 12 years' of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on fund accounting and outsourcing
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing outsourcing solutions for private and alternative asset types
  • Strong understanding of investment operations, and related requirements
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and improve operational efficiency
  • Strong leadership, influence and team management skills
  • Strong analytical skills; able to resolve business problems with well-structured analyses
  • Data driven, experienced in deriving insights from large data sets is preferred
  • Proactive, high-energy, motivated team player capable of delivering on multiple initiatives
