We are the consulting division of Davies, accelerating business, technology and people performance across financial services including banking, asset and wealth management, insurance and other highly regulated industries.

We are currently seeking a Global Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory Associate to join our team on a 6-month contract with likelihood of a permanent role being offered thereafter. The successful individual can be located anywhere in Europe.

The opportunity:

Our client is a major Tier 1 bank with offices throughout Europe. They require a Global FCC Advisory Associate to initially be employed by Davies - Consulting and outsourced to them on a 6-month contract basis. There is an opportunity for the role to become permanent and transition to direct employment with the client once the 6-month contract has been completed.

As a Global Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory Associate, you will support consistent implementation of the FCC framework, strategy and risk appetite across global corporate and investment banking units for our client. You will support the provision of advice to the first and second lines of defence ensuring appropriate financial crime risk management and compliance with global policies. Reporting to the Global Head of FCC Policy & Framework, this role will support the execution of a robust financial crime framework in line with business expansion strategy.

In this role you will:
  • Provide advice to first and second line teams on policy application for all business lines including markets, debt financing, corporate financing and transaction banking;
  • Support due diligence on clients and transactions escalated due to financial crime concerns;
  • Support submission to global forums including due diligence and preparation of materials;
  • Provide guidance and support to CIB units on risk management of pipeline transactions across business lines;
  • Support holistic assessments of client, transaction, geographical and product risk
  • Support units in complying with FCC Policies and Standards
  • Contribute towards enhancing global FCC policies and framework;
  • Support creation of financial crime training material.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Leads by example in holistic assessment and management of financial crime risks across clients, transactions, products/services and geographies.
  • Develops strong relationships with teams across first and second lines of defense to ensure proactive and consistent financial crime risk management.
  • Maintain good working relationships with first and second line teams across CIB
  • Serve as a leader for quality of assessments and pragmatic recommendations.
  • Support business strategy and risk appetite by providing sound and timely advice and recommendations.

  • Shapes risk frameworks and/ policies using external knowledge and benchmarking
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess the effectiveness of our client's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and oversees changes when required
  • Ensures new business opportunities reflect appropriate governance and regulatory control.
  • Demonstrates awareness and understanding of the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to their role

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject is desirable
  • Qualification in Financial Crime (e.g. from ACAMS or ICA) is desirable
  • Proven experience in Financial Crime Compliance roles in financial institutions with an international client-base is a must
  • Strong knowledge of corporate and investment banking products and associated financial crime risks is a must
  • Strong stakeholder management with good written, verbal and influencing skills is a must
  • Previous experience drafting and/or inputting into policies is desirable
