JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD OF FINANCE

Office: Jersey

Department: Finance

Reports to: MD with dotted line to Regional FD

The Head of Finance will have a position of responsibility, offering guidance, implementing

best practice, co-ordinating the financial reporting and financial KPI'S and running the

finance function, whilst also leading at a strategic level and business partnering with the

local management team.

Responsibilities (how we will measure success)

The Head of Finance will work closely with the MD and local leadership team. You'll be

expected to contribute to strategic discussions, understand and communicate company

performance, prepare, deliver and present the annual budget and forecasts. As finance

business partner this is a very commercial, highly visible role within the organisation.

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)
  • As Head of Finance you will be responsible for leading, developing, and strengthening the local finance team
  • Develop and control the annual operating budget and forecasts to ensure that all financial targets are met, and financial and statutory regulations complied with
  • Responsible for monthly financial management information and KPI's deconstructing, analysing and presenting financial data
  • Expected to contribute to the achievement of the business financial objectives of Profitable growth by providing advice and guidance. Examples: provide appropriate data to support: client profitability discussions, cost management reviews, offshoring margin impacts
  • Responsible for the annual financial statements and management of the year end audit process
  • Responsible for Corporate Tax, and any other local tax returns
  • Responsible for the financial element of Regulatory Reporting
  • Cash forecasting, aiming to minimise local cash and maximise flow of excess to Group
  • Driving initiatives to reduce debtors and lock-up days
  • Preparation of regular Board reporting, and other Ad-Hoc reporting as required
  • Ensure robust financial control environment, supported by appropriate systems, policies and procedures and aligned with group FD handbook
  • Liaising and building effective relationships with various stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Assisting and taking the lead on various projects as and where required.
  • Identification and execution around the automation of processes / systems improvements related to finance, in sync with the needs of the business and the group finance roadmap

Qualifications

Required Experience
  • Previously been in a similar role
  • Fully qualified with audit experience and a minimum of 7 years PQE
  • Must have Financial Service experience in a chargeable time environment
  • Understanding of Regulatory environments
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Previous experience of managing and developing staff
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent Excel skills
